AUDIENCE FEEDBACK BY MYSELF & JOVANA:

Above is a video of our audience feedback of our final opening sequence. We asked people within the age group we are going to target as this would give us a better representation for peoples views.

Click on the image below to view the presentation about the response to the above audience feedback…

Here is a link to our pre-production survey, where we have created a video and a copy of our questionnaire including the data we collected which helped us produce a final product.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

March 27, 2011 at 5:12 pm (Evaluation)

Click on the photo below to view the audience presentation:

The statistics in the above presentation were taken from: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=572

The audience we have chosen to target above would enjoy our film because of the fact that they enjoy watching films especially thrillers and our movie would cater to them as it contains all the thriller conventions and has aspects of thrillers – tension, suspense and anticipation. It will keep the audience on their seats as they are able to in a sense be involved with the movie.

Survey

To help rate our opening sequence, we also carried out a mini survey on what people our age thought about what the age rating should be. Here are our results from our survey which supports what we initially had an idea of:

WHAT I HAVE CONTRIBUTED:

December 9, 2010 at 3:12 pm (My Role and Development of Skills)

What I have contributed:

Week 1-2

We recently created our groups for the production of our opening sequence, and I contributed in creating our group blog. (http://ljnb2010.wordpress.com/) My group consists of myself, Jovana, Beth and Ljubica.
I had re-written the initial ideas which we had brainstormed as a group and uploaded it. I created a mini production schedule in which helped to guide us what we needed to achieve in the next two weeks. I also re-wrote the crew contracts with the help of Jovana and the location permission forms for when we start the actual filming.

Week 3-4

This week, we wrote the first draft of the treatment together ensuring that all our ideas were taken into account and resulted in the first draft. As it was our first draft it wasn’t expected to be perfect, therefore we went out to research on what our peers thought of the treatment. I contributed to the process of making the questionnaire which Beth and Ljubica distributed, as well as, I filmed the research while Jovana was asking random students what they thought of our idea and how to improve. Then, Jovana and I edited of the video resulting in our final video for the research. Taking all the advice into account, we finalised our treatment which we all contributed in.

Week 5-6

Throughout these weeks, as a group we were finalising our ideas and preparing to start filming. This included creating the script, storyboards, equipment/locations lists and deciding on our character profiles. This took us a long time because of the fact that we had to make sure everything worked well together as we wanted our filming to go smoothly. I personally contributed to the script  with Beth and Jovana and assisted them with the storyboards as I uploaded them onto our blog. I created the equipment and props lists with the help of Jovana, while Beth assisted us in brainstorming ideas for the character profiles and Ljubica uploaded them. We worked well as a group and managed to schedule our film dates and characters.

Week 7-8

We were able to film most of our footage in this time using two cameras ensuring we cover creative angles for our final product to be perfect. I was filming with one camera while Jovana covered the other angles – during this time the other two members of our group were setting up the location and ensuring we can finish the filming in one day. Working hard for several hours, we managed to get the filming done and hoping it comes together well. However, we had problems with uploading the footage as well as having a faulty camera – which didn’t produce sound. This led for us to re-film everything again.

Week 9-10

Having had bad luck with our previous footage, we managed to use my camera as we didn’t want to risk another faulty one. However, this time we had to have a change of characters so I personally stepped in to be the main character with Philip. Jovana was filming with the camera and Ljubica and Beth were the two detectives. Again, after several hours of filming we managed to finish the opening sequence using creative angles. At school, we uploaded it and Jovana and I started to edit the footage while Beth and Ljubica covered the blog sector. We finally produced our first draft of the opening sequence, which doesn’t include music, and uploaded it onto our blogs.

Week 11-12

As we gathered feedback from our first draft, we came together as a group and discussed in ways we can improve our final product. We discovered that as it’s only a couple of minutes, to make it easier for the audience to understand we would have to alter the storyline as well as add music to create a better atmosphere. Therefore we re-filmed the scenes and managed to put together our final draft of the video. Including music, voiceovers and creative angles, we managed to create a final piece which is similar to an opening sequence rather than a mini film or a trailer.
